@sM3e Cool, youll have no trouble with Snowden, i tested it on Wednesday, its ok. I still need more training before our challenge though- @captainteacakes just under 8 for Ben and 6 for Scafell. I am aching now though

iOS 4.3.1 Jailbreak Now Available (Kind Of) USE AT OWN RISK
I for one wont be braving this until I know there is a fully safe and tested, untethered Jailbreak available for 4.3.1. Mostly because I’m really happy with 4.2.1 on my iPhone 4 and Apple TV 2 but also because I dont see the need to upgrade (No stunning new features to tempt me)
However if you like many others must have the latest releases of iOS for your iDevice and really want to make the jump and attempt a Jailbreak there are now 2 options available for you. (However these will not make the Jailbreak section of this site as they are still very much a work in progress.)
WINDOWS USERS

Modified PwnageTool 4.2
available HERE courtesy of Redmond Pie and DJayB6 Both of these work in the same way. They are modified bundles that have to manually injected into tools that were made available for the 4.2.1 Jailbreak. There are then RamDisk fixes that need to be done too. All of this is mentioned and described in detail for Mac Users and there is a little less work for Windows Users as ih8sn0w has kindly compiled all the fixes together but these both work the same way. They will both leave your device in a Tethered Jailbroken State. This means you will need a PC / Laptop to rejailbreak your iDevice every time you need to reboot it. Also many Jailbroken apps are not ready for 4.3.1 as yet so you will be ahead of the game of most developers (be prepared for issues with your favourite tweaks until they are updated) If you are brave enough/want to have the bleeding edge to 1up your mates/have too much time on your hands and try this out please discuss how it goes for you. MAybe you will even tempt me to give it a whirl. Until then Im gonna sit back and continue to enjoy my Untethered 4.2.1 and all my perfectly working Tweaks and wait for A. a fully working untethered 4.3.1 Jailbreak to come out / B. iOS 5.0 Beta to surface for me to have a tinker or C. My wife to finally have had enough of my love for all things Apple and something nasty to accidentally happen to each of them. WORD OF WARNING
Untethered Jailbreak for 4.2.1 on iPhone 4, iPod Touch and iPad *CONFIRMED WORKING!!

For the last few days the Dev-Team Blog have been teasing a new UNTETHERED JAILBREAK for 4.2.1 on the A4 Processor Family of iOS Devices. This includes the iPhone 4, iPod Touch 4 and the iPad. To find out more they suggested that you follow @redsn0w_testers on Twitter. However there were requirements that had to be met, these were ;-
Obviously these are quite specific requirements and only a select amount of people will fulfill them, but the good news is I do and anyone else thats been on the scene following the guidelines out there for backing up SHSH’s and knows of TinyUmbrella should also have the necessities to try this.
On Xmas Day the Dev Team released the Jailbreak and it is already on its 3rd Release. They do warn though
This is a beta tester program. It’s not a general release! Things can go very wrong, so please don’t even consider testing if you have pictures or other media on your device that you haven’t backed up!

For the same reason, please don’t participate if you rely on the ultrasn0w carrier unlock. Wait for the final version!
and
Until we fix some sandbox issues with bluetooth, the bluetooth functionality is disabled.
Although this release is not for the faint of heart or anywhere near a main-stream release I can confirm it does work and gets us a step closer to a general release for an Untethered Jailbreak for all 4.2.1 devices!
Installing USBMUXD on OSX
(If you dont have the original install discs or are on a HackinT0sh signup and download from Apple)
“cd ~/Desktop/FOLDER NAME/usbmuxd-1.0.6″ hit ENTER (FOLDER NAME = folder you created in Step FIVE)
(or type “cd ” then drag the usbmuxd-1.0.6 folder into your terminal window and hit ENTER)
“mkdir build” hit ENTER
“cd build” hit ENTER
“cmake ..” hit ENTER
“make” hit ENTER
“sudo make install” hit ENTER and enter your password when it asks
USBMUXD is now installed

Just spent a very rare few spare minutes upping an Xmas theme to the site, Have a looksee and let me know what you think.
Not much to add to the blog as yet, still no untethered Jailbreak for 4.2 and theres been reports of a fair few bugs on 4.2 already.
Rumours
Rumour has it that 4.3 is just around the corner (all be it a rumour)
Also fresh from the Rumour Mill is that the iPad 2 is already in mass production and will be unveiled at a Special iPad Event being held by Apple during December! Could this be the iPad with Camera for FaceTime and More Ram!?! If so I may end up jumping on the iPad Train.
Quick couple of things you should look out for,
Firstly if you want to see just how good a game can be on your Retina Display get Rage HD from the Appstore now! Its a quality FPS from id (The creators of Doom & Quake) and its visually stunning! (Think 360 Graphics in your hand!)
My Favourite Game “Cut The Rope” has had an update with MORE LEVELS!!!
FIFA 11 Update has ironed out all the bugs (still no multiplayer as yet 
)
Real Racing 2 is just round the corner and is shaping up to be a corker and looking very nice indeed, possibly a hand held equivalent of GT5!!
Lego Harry Potter Years 1 – 4 is an example of the iOS Device surpassing all current handheld gaming devices as it has the best graphic out of the PSP & NDS and plays wonderfully
Lastly one of my favourites “Aqua Moto Racing 2″ got a cool update today called Storm Mode. This gets rid of the nice sunny weather in game and gives you a dark, choppy sea with thunder and lightning, adding a whole new feel to the game even if you’ve already completed it. They also added Game Center achievements and scoreboards so you can go up against your friends easier.
Anyway thats all from me for now, Im off to wind down from an incredibly hard day at work and enjoy some shut-eye. As soon as anything unfolds in the iOS world I will post it here as always.
iOS 4.2 is here for iPhone, iPad & iPod Touch
iOS 4.2 is now available to all iOS devices through iTunes.
WARNING
Don’t upgrade if you want a Jailbreak!! No unteathered Jailbreak is available as yet so hold fire if your a Jailbreaker. As soon as anything happens and is proven safe I’ll post it here.
For now it’s essential that all Jailbreakers download Tiny Umbrella and use it to save their 4.1 SHSH files to ensure they can always Jailbreak in the future.

iOS4.1 Jailbreak Released! Geohot throws a spanner in the works!
Just as I was tucking myself into bed I read on Twitter that the LimeRa1n tool from GeoHot has been released! Now sat in my Office I am about to try out GeoHot’s LimeRa1n tool and write-up on how it works.
Releasing LimeRain before the SHATTER Jailbreak didn’t come without its politics though! Especially as it contained code from Comex & Westbauer to enable the untethering that was agreed not to be used until after SHATTER was released. Also with GeoHot stating that this software is still in Beta there are already issues surfacing, ie. No 3GS Support for latest bootroom (GeoHots biggest selling point of this Jailbreak!) Beta 2 is now available to iron out some bugs and I expect there will be several more beta’s surface over the next 24-48 hours.
Geohot claims to have bought his tool out early to encourage the Chronic Dev Team to do the right thing and use his exploit in tomorrows GreenPoison Release instead of using the SHATTER exploit. There are talkings and whisperings thought that he has just done it for the Glory and the Donations he will receive on his site. By releasing his tool early (some say rushed) he has put a lot of developers noses out of joint and pissed a fair few people off.
There have been various success rates online, an influx of Youtube videos and the Forums have come alive. Apparently some people have had issues with Bluetooth and Wireless? I am about to test it myself and am currently setting up my Mac with Windows as for the time being LIMERA1N is WINDOWS ONLY

Its just sitting in DFU mode Gonna have to boot into windows instead of just using VMWARE, BRB. EDIT : -After a quick reboot into Win 7 Bootcamp all is well!
GeoHot makes a comeback! 4.1 Jailbreak with Limera1n too!!
You read it right folks! Not only is the SHATTER/GREENPOIS0N jailbreak from the Chronic Dev Team coming this Sunday (10/10/10 @ 10:10.10) but now the Infamous George Hotz (Creator of the first ever Jailbreak and then Blackra1n) is now going up against them and coming out of hiding to release Limera1n to Jailbreak 4.1 the day after (11th October)!!
Lets compare the Jailbreaks
SHATTER has been confirmed as an unblockable Jailbreak for all A4 chip devices, the iPhone 4, iPod Touch 4th Gen and the iPad. The SHATTER Jailbreak is tethered (requires a wired computer connection to reboot) however injects code directly to the A4 Chip that means you’ll always be able to Jailbreak until Apple replaces the hardware in later models.
Good news is that Comex (the wonderful creator of Jailbreakme.com iOS4 Jailbreak) has found a userland patch dubbed GreenPois0n that will remove the need for tethered reboots on SHATTERed iOS4.1 devices. The bad news is Apple will most certainly patch this fix before the release of 4.2! That’s not to say a new exploit won’t be found in 4.2 (fingers crossed!) But be safe in the knowledge if you have a Current Spec iPhone 4, iPod Touch 4th Gen or the iPad SHATTER will be your permanent Jailbreak from Sunday onwards.
IMPORTANT NOTE
As the SHATTER exploit requires the A4 chip anyone with a iPhone 3GS (latest bootrom), iPod Touch 2nd Gen (MC Serial) or iPod Touch 3rd Gen does not have the A4 Chip so SHATTER will not work on your device so this will not be an option for you. (Do not be disheartened though, read on for some breaking news!)
For people with iPhone 3G or early bootroms iPhone 3GS and early bootrom iPod Touch 2nd Gens you can already Jailbreak iOS4.1 with the latest RedSnow or PWNageTool from the Dev-Team.
BREAKING NEWS
LIMERA1N was originally in the works some time ago by George Hotz to Jailbreak iOS4 and the just released (then) iPhone 4. However due to many people in the iPhone Community pushing him too hard, sending demands, threats, and generally not being very nice to him about his work he decided to leave the scene and he closed down his Twitter Account. Today though from nowhere it has surfaced that LimeRa1n is about to make an amazing comback with a link to an Image now available on his site of all 4 currently released devices showing the LimeRa!n logo with the Image being named LIMETIME! That includes the 3GS and means the Internet is currently alive with theories that he is only doing it to enable support to the people out there with the Latest Bootrom iPhone 3GS, iPod Touch 2nd Gen (MC Serial) and iPod Touch 3rd Gen. I am desperately trying to find an official source for the date on Twitter and around the Net but cannot find any official statement, however many reputable source’s including “StealthBravo” have confirmed it on Twitter that it is real and that is coming on 11th October (exactly 1 year after BlackRa1n’s Release) unless someone talks him out of it?!?…
It has also been confirmed that this Jailbreak uses a Different BootRom Exploit to SHATTER so this means it could be a permanent Jailbreak for everyone out there including 3GS’s and iPT G3′s!!!
With only days to go the excitement will be hotting up on the net, I hope Im here to witness it and blog it but with the birth of my daughter imminent it could well take priority! Either way enjoy the upcoming Jailbreak/S guys and I will get write-ups up ASAP.

The Jailbreak for 4.1 that we have all been waiting for has finally been given a release date for this Sunday!! (10/10/10) at 10:10.10am!!

This video just surfaced mere moment ago on the Dev Teams Blog with a description that it is a Jailbroken iPod Touch G4 after being Jailbroken using SHAtter implemented inside PWNage Tool. It has worked fully however the team is trying to implement it into a quicker tool like RedSnow & QuickPWN before any kind of release. The good news is though with it running inside PWNage Tool there will be a way to Jailbreak iPhone 4′s without upgrading the BaseBand and therefore preserving anyones Ultra-Snow Unlocks!
I will add more info as it appears, for now enjoy watching a Jailbroken iPod Touch G4!!
SHAttered iPod touch 4G
Those of you with Apple’s new iPod touch 4G, or those of you who bought another recent device after the jailbreakme.com exploit was closed, have probably heard about a brand new exploit called SHAtter. The exploit (and payload) was developed by @pod2g a few months after @p0sixninja of the Chronic Dev Team discovered the crash. That team is hard at work bringing you a brand new tool to make use of the exploit. It’s not the sort of thing that can be developed overnight so please be patient while waiting for any announcements from them.In the meantime, we’ve put @pod2g’s exploit into a beta version of PwnageTool to test the waters. The SHAtter exploit was enough to convince the iPod touch 4G to restore to our custom IPSW. The successful result is shown below!
Although PwnageTool was a useful first test of a full iPod 4G jailbreak via SHAtter, it’s really overkill compared to the faster tools being developed. Its main use in PwnageTool will be for those with iPhone4’s, to allow updates while preserving the baseband and ultrasn0w carrier unlock. In any event, this is another exciting time for iPhone and iPod touch users…the cat and mouse game continues!
Now we just wait a little longer for release. I can’t wait to JB my iPhone 4 on 4.1 so I can enjoy Game Center!
Note:
Please don’t hassle any of the iPhone Dev Team for a release date as the more emails and demands they have to deal with the less time they have to devote to releasing the JailBreak, it will come in time and is well worth the wait!
