JailBreaking
iOS5 Jailbreak is finally here
You can now Jailbreak an A4 iOS device Untethered. This includes the iPhone 4, iPod Touch and iPad 1.
A5 devices (iPhone 4S and iPad2 coming soon)
Be warned though that once you Jailbreak you will not be able to use the “Over the Air” updates now available in iOS5.
To read more about the Jailbreak visit the official Dev Team Blog here
There is 3 ways to be untethered on your A4 device.
Option 1 – for those already jailbroken with a tethered Jailbreak (need to plug into a PC/Mac to reboot) you can either run the latest Redsnow and unclick the install Cydia option, or download Corona from Cydia to become untethered. If you remove Corona you will go back to a tethered Jailbreak.
Option 2 – jailbreak iOS5.01 using RedSnow available
Here for MAC
Here for WINDOWS (run as Administrator)
Option 3 – You can create a custom firmware that you can restore your iOS Device with using PwnageTool which is currently available via a Torrent Download HERE
Hopefully I will have my own links updated on the site here ASAP.
The Teams and People all involved in this new Jailbreak hope to have the tools updated for A5 devices soon which means an Untethered Jailbreak for the iPhone 4S and iPad 2 is just around the corner.
Now would be a good time to save those SHSH Blobs for 5.01 using TinyUmbrella
4.3.4 & 4.3.5 Tethered Jailbreak Only! Apple has patched Jailbreakme.com
DO NOT under any circumstances upgrade to 4.3.4 on your iPhone if you are on 4.3.4 and want to Jailbreak. It has been patched and is the only reason that 4.3.4 has been released.
Saying that, if you are unfortunate enough to have upgraded or just bought a new iDevice that has 4.3.4 on it you can Jailbreak using the latest Redsn0w available here FOR MAC and here FOR WINDOWS. This will however be a tethered Jailbreak only. If you are on 4.3.5 use the same Jailbreak but point it at the 4.3.4 IPSW
4.3.3 Unteathered Jailbreak is here UPDATED 6th JULY 2011

Or you can still use Redsn0w and a PC / Mac

4.3.2 is Released
The iPhone Dev Team have done it again and released an Untethered Jailbreak for all 4.3.2 iOS devices (except iPad 2)
The Jailbreak which strangely wasnt patched by Apple’s 4.3.2 release still uses the LimeRain exploit with @ionic‘s untether and fantastic work on stopping Apples ASLR technology from messing up Jailbreaks.
Restore to stock 4.3.2 using iTunes and then run the latest Redsn0w 0.9.6rc14 for Mac OS X or Windows
Im loving 4.3.1 at the mo and there is nothing in the changelog for me to warrant an upgrade but if you have let us know below.
Just a quick update on the 4.3.2 Untethered Jailbreak.
For those of you on Mac OS X here is the latest release of PwnageTool to create an untethered iOS 4.3.2 Firmware for all iDevices (Except iPad2)
DOWNLOAD PwnageTool_4.3.2.dmg HERE
Ive hosted it for download here on sM3e.com but is also available here with all the latest information iPhone Dev-Team Blog

4.3.1 is Released
Those guys at iPhone Dev Team have gone and released an Untethered Jailbreak for all 4.3.1 iOS devices (except iPad 2)
The Jailbreak uses the LimeRain exploit with @ionic‘s untether and fantastic work on stopping Apples ASLR technology from messing up Jailbreaks.
Pwnagetool is available for Mac and will allow you to create a custom firmware you can restore to from iTunes that won’t upgrade your baseband (this is for unlockers) however ultrasn0w needs a 4.3.1 update first.
(download pwnagetool from the iPhone Dev Team Blog)
Sn0wbreeze will be updated for windows users to do the same very soon.
For the rest of us that ain’t fussed about an unlock just get upgraded to stock 4.3.1 using iTunes and then run the latest RedSn0w 0.9.6rc9 for Mac OS X or Windows
I have work right now so won’t get to test it out till later on. Anyone that uses it today can you post your success stories here please?

Jailbreaking 4.2.1 is simple and could not be easier with Greenpois0n which is available for Mac | Windows and Linux users and jailbreaks all iOS Devices (iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad and Apple TV2) and works untethered.
Update on 4.2.1 Jailbreak
Over christmas people were invited to test a new version of redsn0w that will Un-Tether the 4.2.1 Jailbreak on A4 Processor iOS Devices (iPhone 4, iPod Touch 4 and iPad) The requirements for this are quite specialist though, however it does work! Read more here and keep checking back for more details.
LATEST JAILBREAK NEWS
It is now far too simple to Jailbreak your iDevice on 4.1! Best of all theres more than one tool too!
For all devices including iPhone 3GS / iPhone 4, iPad, iPod Touch 2nd, 3rd & 4th Gen and Apple TV you can use : -

If you have an iPhone 3G or iPod Touch 2nd Gen (Not an MC Serial Number) plus all the other devices mentioned above then you can use the Dev-Teams Redsn0w tool which incorporates the Limera1n Jailbreak currently used in both the other tools. Redsn0w gives the advantage of custom bootlogos for iPhone3G/iPhone3GS/iPod2G users (with qualifying bootroms).
4.2 is coming soon, wait until we give it the all clear to upgrade your iDevice though
